St Albans School is looking to send a team of 16 year 5 and 6 boys and girls to the Primary Schools Duathlon on Monday 23rd March at Ruapuna Raceway. It is a competitive event comprising of a 2km run, 6km bike and a 1km run. Due to the nature of the event parents will be required to transport their child and bike to and from Ruapuna Raceway and be responsible for their health and safety during the event. The children will need to be at the course prior to 9am and will be unable to collect their bike until the end of the final race at approximately 1pm. If your child is an able runner and cyclist and would like to be considered for the event they will need to complete an 'Expression of Interest' form and return it to Julie Worthington by Monday 2nd March. If your child didn't collect a form earlier in the week spare copies are available in K15.
If more than 4 children in each year/gender group express an interest in the event then we will look to hold a school trial to select the fasted athletes and more details will follow.
If you require any further information please see Julie Worthington or check out the dualthlon information on the Primary Sports Canterbury website: http://www.primarysportscanterbury.org.nz.
