We are learning about Antarctica.
We are great at locating it on map and know that Antarctica is a continent that has no people living there permanently.
We have discovered there are very few animals that live in Antarctica. Those that do live there have to have special adaptations so they can survive in the cold. We have learned that a thick layer of blubber is important for keeping the animals in Antarctica warm.
We did an experiment by putting some kremelta on our finger of on one hand and then putting that finger and one that didn't have the kremelta on it into ice water. We discovered that our finger without the kremelta on it was freezing but the other one was warm. This is a bit like the way blubber works.
